Why Were the Products Recalled?

Georgia Nut Company, the third-party manufacturer responsible for producing Tru Fru products, voluntarily initiated this recall following a customer complaint about metal contamination in their purchase.[5]

The FDA warns that consuming food containing hard or sharp foreign objects can result in serious injuries, including:[6]

  • Cuts to the mouth, tongue, and throat
  • Damage to teeth and gums
  • Lacerations to the stomach and intestinal tract

Fortunately, no injuries have been reported in connection with these recalled products as of this announcement.[7]
